UEFA MIP starts this week with the members of the 4th edition meeting for the first time in Switzerland.
Nemanja Vidic, Sami Khedira, Nigel De Jong, Hamit Altintop, Tulio De Melo, Veronica Boquete, Reginal Goreux, … They are some people taking part into the new edition of the international programme.
UEFA MIP is a diploma delivered by the University of Limoges in France and developed in collaboration with sports partners such as UEFA, the European Club Association known as ECA and the football players international federation known as FIFPro. The diploma is also built with the support of Birkbeck, University of London. Launched in 2015 by CDES, this diploma concerns former professional football players. It aims to help them develop and highlight their skills previously acquired on the field in order to reach management positions in the sports industry.
The first session, directed by both Didier Primault who’s CDES manager and Christophe Lepetit who’s head of economic studies at CDES, is meant to emphasise the framework of professional sport. It takes place in prestigious sports places in Switzerland such as the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, the FIBA headquarters in Geneva, the IOC headquarters in Lausanne and the Geneva Stadium. Most stakeholders had the chance to express their opinions about sports and especially football news. Participants also attended workshops and had feedbacks about career management and human resources. Finally, numerous MIP alumni came to speak about the way they experienced the programme.
Next session will take place in Paris in February 2022.
