Legal expertise of CDES<\/h2>\n

With almost 20 years of experience, our legal department enables sports stakeholders to benefit from the expertise and documentation of the Centre for Sports Law and Economics. This expertise relies on a specialised database of legal texts, doctrinal studies and case law relevant to the sports movement. This reference catalogue for sports law is continuously updated, and is a unique source of information in the field.<\/p>\n

WHAT FOR?<\/h3>\n

CDES\u2019 legal skills and resources can be placed at your service in different ways:<\/p>\n

Legal advice:<\/strong> legal consultations and drafting on request of legal notes on various points (state of applicable law, implications of a legislative development, legality of a federal regulation, drafting or proofreading of contracts…) in the field of sports law and in other legal fields likely to be of direct or indirect interest to the sports sector;<\/p>\n

Litigation:<\/strong> representation and defence before State courts (civil and administrative), CNOSF conciliation, arbitration tribunals (in particular CAS) and, subject to possible conflicts of interest, before sports bodies (e.g. the FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber);<\/p>\n

Legal studies:<\/strong> carrying out legal studies on issues relating to sport, such as the work carried out for the European Commission in 2009 on sports agents and in 2012 on player transfers in Europe;<\/p>\n

Legal watch:<\/strong> permanent monitoring of legislative, regulatory and case law developments in the field of sports law and in other areas of law likely to be of direct or indirect interest to the sports sector;<\/p>\n

Documentary assistance:<\/strong> provision of all legal documentation on request (laws, decrees, rulings, collective agreements, case law, model statutes, model contracts, model letters, etc.).<\/p>\n
